Online Therapy in Arizona
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working with couples and individuals throughout Arizona, entirely online. Most of the people I work with are in their twenties and thirties, in the years where relationships, work, and identity all seem to be renegotiating themselves at once.
Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff, and everywhere the drive to a therapist's office is long enough that you'd talk yourself out of going. Online takes that particular obstacle off the table.
Yes, I'm licensed in Arizona
I'm based in California, so it's a fair question whether I can treat you in Arizona. I can. I hold an Arizona marriage and family therapist license through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, license #16299.
Arizona's standards of practice apply to my work with you in full, exactly as they would to a therapist with a Phoenix office. You're working with someone Arizona licenses and holds accountable.
Appointment times, and the daylight saving question
I see clients Tuesday through Friday, 9am to 4pm Pacific. Because Arizona doesn't observe daylight saving time, what that means on your clock changes with the season.
From roughly March to November we're on the same time, so my hours are your 9am to 4pm. Through the winter months Arizona runs an hour ahead of California, so those become 10am to 5pm your time. Either way there are afternoon slots available, and I'll always confirm the time in Arizona time when we schedule so nobody's doing the math under pressure.
What we work on
Couples. Arguments that keep circling back without landing anywhere. Physical or emotional closeness that's harder to find than it used to be. The drift toward operating as a household rather than a couple. I'm Level 3 Gottman trained and also draw on PACT and EFT. More on how I work with couples →
Individuals. Anxiety, relationship patterns that repeat no matter who you're with, life transitions, and new parenthood. More on individual therapy →
Fees & insurance
Sessions run $275 for individuals and $300 for couples. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are available if cost is a barrier. I don't bill insurance directly, but plenty of Arizona clients recover part of the cost through out-of-network benefits, and I issue monthly superbills for that purpose.
Common Questions
1
Do I need to be in Arizona during our sessions?
Yes. Licensure follows your physical location at the time of the session. I'm also licensed in California, Washington, Oregon, Texas, Florida, and Virginia, so if you're traveling to any of those we can usually keep going without interruption.
2
I split the year between Arizona and California. Does that work?
It works well, and it's one of the more common reasons people find me. I'm fully licensed in both states, so you can spend winters in Scottsdale and summers in the Bay Area and keep the same therapist through both. No transferring records, no starting over with someone new each time you move.
3
What if I've never done therapy before?
Most of my clients hadn't when they started. You don't need a clear account of what's wrong to begin. "Something is off and I can't explain it" is a completely workable starting point, and figuring out what's underneath it is part of the work rather than a prerequisite for it.
